Humane Mouse Trap Review – Do They Work?

Do you need an easy way to get rid of persistent mice – without hurting them? Using a humane mouse trap has shown to be effective, plus you don’t have to kill any animals.

Re-Useable, Easy to Use Humane Mouse Traps

Instructions on How to Use Humane Mouse Traps:

These simple contraptions are surprisingly effective and easy to use. In fact, you may like the quick set-up and cost-saving re-usability just as much as the catch-and-release aspect.

As you an see below, this gadget has 3 basic components to it. It has a spring door, release door and the fulcrum. You just need to push down the spring door and add bait. (Most people use peanut butter because it produces a strong scent.)

First, the rodent enters through the spring door when he smells the bait. Next, he steps on the fulcrum, which activates the spring door to close.

The mouse remains in this compartment until you open the release door to let him go. Air holes in the top and sides of the container allow him to breathe comfortably until he’s set free.

Since no-kill traps don’t create a messy clean-up project, you can simply rinse and re-use the container. Just add more bait and re-set the spring door.

Note: Humane traps have another advantage in that they are safe around kids, pets or other animals. Unlike poison, glue traps or traditional spring-loaded traps, you don’t have to worry about any injuries or accidental deaths.

I particularly like how you can free the animals back into nature. Release Distance: Peta recommends releasing rodents within 100 yards from where they were trapped.

Plus, you don’t have to remove a dead animal with your hands. Not to mention, you can re-use eco humane traps again and again.

Note: These traps come in 2-packs and cost less than $15. At this price, you can save a bunch of money, even if you only use them a few times. (More effective and easier than homemade!)

Durable Metal Mesh Humane Rat Trap

However, these versions are bigger and have heavy-duty wire mesh than animals can chew through. In addition, the rust-proof cage will last for many years.

This larger version costs more, at about $20 apiece. However, the ease-of-use, humane capture and prevention of house damage makes these gadgets priceless.
